Starting with the OSI model (reference model, service access points, …)
Calculation of the transmission time over several hops
Layer 2: focus on automatic repeat requests (ARQ) and Ethernet
Layer 3: focus on routing protocols, IPv4, IPv6 and quality of service (QoS) using prioritisation
Layer 4: focus on TCP functions, like reliable end-to-end connection with exercises on transmitting segments, TCP Reno and Tahoe
Layer 7: focus essential Internet protocols
