    Content:

    • Starting with the OSI model (reference model, service access points, …)
    • Calculation of the transmission time over several hops
    • Layer 2: focus on automatic repeat requests (ARQ) and Ethernet
    • Layer 3: focus on routing protocols, IPv4, IPv6 and quality of service (QoS) using prioritisation
    • Layer 4: focus on TCP functions, like reliable end-to-end connection with exercises on transmitting segments, TCP Reno and Tahoe
    • Layer 7: focus essential Internet protocols
